A little about the organization I am going with - Flying Mission. It began as a traveling medical mission, but has since expanded to include many other ministries as well. The HIV/AIDS branch at Flying Missions focuses on partnering with local grassroots orphan care efforts that have sprung up in response to the growing number of orphaned children. HIV/AIDS has become one of the most critical issues facing Botswana in recent years. The magnitude of this epidemic is so great that not one family remains untouched. Despite advances in HIV treatment and access to antiretroviral drugs, the number of AIDS orphans in Sub-Saharan Africa is projected to exceed 25 million by the end of the decade, and the need for programs that address this crisis-already in short supply- will only increase.
